Mr. Dekwood had a nearly wall-sized window that he wanted to cover. There was no room on the inside of the pane to mount anything, so he had to go for exterior shades. He also had an interest in bamboo, and due to the window’s dimensions, he favored vertical shades. He made an appointment for our team to determine how feasible this was, and to start work on some custom exterior shades if so.
We found plenty of room over the exterior window frame to install the tracks for some hanging, vertical bamboo shades. Installing a belt or drawstring would take more carpentry and wall-replacement than Mr. Dekwood deemed worth it, so we had to automate the new bamboo shades. We went with a Somfy horizontal mount that connected easily to the power system and programmed it to a standard two-button remote for easy control.
